The Development Research Institute (DRI) is devoted to rigorous, scholarly research on the economic development and growth of poor countries. An independent and non-partisan organization, DRI is led by NYU Professors William Easterly and Yaw Nyarko and is home to a growing team of researchers.   • DRI Wins International AwardThe BBVA Foundation has recognized DRI for "its contribution to the analysis of foreign aid provision, and its challenge to the conventional wisdom in development assistance" with the €400,000 Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Development Cooperation.
  • William Easterly named as one of the Top 100 Global ThinkersForeign Policy's first annual list of the Top 100 Global Thinkers, published this month, includes Professor William Easterly at number 39 for "raising inconvenient truths about the foreign-aid business." The list also includes DRI affiliated faculty member Bruce Bueno de Mesquita.
